Ddg uses bing results and it's okay, but maybe 15% of the time i end up having to use the !g command to switch my search to google because ddg' wasn't giving me good enough results As i can read here , they are saying they keep no logs (and ddg's image search is far inferior to google too.)

On firefox desktop to add a new search engine you often need the addon add custom search engine Delete the preinstalled ones if you are on linux, as they send your exact operating system along all the time You can often set a new one right clicking on the search bar when being on for example startpage.com
