The only solution i found to successfully duplicate your iphone whatsapp account, to a functional client on the ipad was via whatsapp web Open whatsapp web in chrome web browser, f12 (enter dev tools), now go to application tab and delete all indexeddb one by one Open your whatsapp app on your iphone and open the menu using the 3 little dots.

I'm using whatsapp web instead and using the feature download app from chrome which allow me to have the whatsapp web as an independent window and right now it works better than the official desktop app for catalina. Since last night, whatsapp web on chrome and every other browser i've tried has been using way more cpu than it needs or had previously used Apparently, now whatsapp web doesn't work on tablet browsers I reached out both whatsapp and apple support for this issue
And apple asked to re install the update and i did but that didn't help
Then whatsapp gave an explanation to the problem, that whatsapp web now isn't supported on mobile browsers and tablets browsers I tried everything to solve this issue on my win10 desktop, but no luck Drag & drop function will not work on a win10 desktop, but only with whatsapp
