What is the average speed for an actual typing enthusiast
This would be better answered as a poll, but what do you expect the average typing speed to be for the people who can touch type/practice regularly?
I know this post is quite old already, but here's a list of all skill levels incl 10,000 races typist becomes racer if you upgrade to premium badges I started off at 60wpm, now i average 110wpm with a personal best of 183, 20000 races later All i can say is
20 races a day should even do the drill I don't use my pinky fingers for letters, but i use my left pinky for left shift and my right pinky for apostrophes Also try to use as many fingers as possible On my right hand i only use my middle and finger and index.
Typeracer imo punishes more (maybe even most) than monkey type or nitrotype with default settings
Because you have to write capitalization, numbers, and delete the mistakes you wrote and then rewrite then rather than continue typing. Type racer is definitely better than monkeytype , yeah its time consuming but if you regularly type in monkeytype and switch to type racer you can see a drastic decline in your typing speed because typeracer makes you type a lot of punctuation marks. Crosspost from the sleepy typeracer reddit, since i think a number of us use typeracer to try out our keyboards If you sampled the typing speeds of the general population, i bet the percentile for any given wpm would be much higher
If you enter a race that doesn't have any human opponents waiting to play, typeracer will pair you with simulated opponents
