Panic at the disco is a band in name only and has been that way for years But they're light enough that you could probably get into bands like the killers, saint motel, weezer, foo fighters, etc Even magazines were pointing out for a while that he might as well just rename the band to being brandon and the panics since it was basically a solo project now

Upon the return of panic At the disco, which now follows frontman brendon urie alongside additional consultive and creative talents (more on that later), i was admittedly hesitant to see what his forced hiatus had amounted to And honestly, if ryan hadn't left the band and his trajectory continued to his liking, panic Musically it would have become something like the young veins (which is a very good band, because it works very well outside of what ryan's previous project had been
It really baffles me why panic Gets associated with the emo genre Most of their debut album (which is fantastic by the way, one of my favorite pop punk albums) doesn’t sound emotional As opposed to be shy, heartbroken, or just plain angry it sounds confident, fun, and even sexual at times.
This video about brendon urie got me thinking
At the disco has a lot in common with paramore when you get down to it Both are 2000s rock bands started by a group of high school friends Both have a lead singer whose more recognizable than the other members (to the point of being featured in other artists songs) And both have cycled through multiple band members in the last decade.
Panic is dramatic and bombastic, lyrically and musically, so i can't think of any bands that sound like them
