I strongly disagree with the idea of judging a director's work based on their private life. Mordum, cannibal holocaust, flower of flesh and blood, begotten. Pasolini is a master director (rest in peace)
SALO (@salo_rc) on Threads
Ppl who say salo horrifying & disturbing are 100% correct
But they need the historical and cultural context
Italian film canβt be paraphrased or reduced to our modern day perspectives. While salo had a truly cinematic and artistic approach to the way they told the story and the horrors they were willing to show The graphic nature of the film comes from the massive balls pasolini had in not being afraid to make the most powerful and everlasting film on the fascism he thought was destroying humanity through an inherent evil. Alright lets just get this out of the way because i'm sick of thinking about it
Is salo actually worth watching Donde puedo ver salo o 120 dΓas en sodoma recomienden una pΓ‘gina para verla? So i decided it's time to watch salo next I repeat what the fuck
The last 40 minutes of the movie i was so depressed because of eveything i'd seen up to this point that i couldn't really focus on what's going on anymore
Care someone to explain a bit I mean, yeah, i know what happes but i guess i lost some plot elements. Salo is his depiction of that corruption and disregard for life or dignity with no real punishment for those that committed the crimes Itβs not something you should watch lightly
Iβm not kidding when i say itβs rough But itβs genuinely incredible art And the criterion drop comes with some incredible supplemental material The goal of /r/movies is to provide an inclusive place for discussions and news about films with major releases
Submissions should be for the purpose of informing or initiating a discussion, not just to entertain readers
Why do people find salo so disturbing It's basically an old prostitute talking about blowing dudes while naked people stand around
