We noticed that last november, duke energy included a ~$6 charge for a streetlight New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.

When we called them, they said that it's for a streetlight on our property If you're like me, the credit card rewards are a nice bonus, and passing along the fees to duke is <chef's kiss> We don't have a streetlight on our property, so the call got escalated to someone else

That person said that we started seeing that charge because they recently started itemizing the bill.

What the everloving fuck is this

So, i moved from covington to cheviot a few months ago Given the heat, and the fact that the house has zero insulation (which i've now remedied), i assumed my ridiculous energy bills were due to running the central air + window units pretty much 24/7. What has your experience been For me, duke energy's budget billing algorithm is broken

The problem started in march of '21 when duke energy started lowering my monthly payments throughout the year by about 20% There was no change in my usage or rate Naturally, this resulted in a deficit, and i received a bill for about $600 to settle the deficit. I got an email that my community chose dynegy energy as our electric supplier and i have a week to opt out if i want to keep duke

Is dynegy cheaper than duke

Would anyone recommend switching from duke? That rider line item is duke energy's generation rate I wish they would show it differently Evidently they live anywhere outside of city limits, or any other city that does energy aggregation.

Duke energy florida rates for residential fixed rate is 7.688 cents/kwh for less than 1000kwh and 8.823 cents/kwh for over 1000 kwh Both of these rates are cheaper than tou on peak rates If you can manage to use almost all of your electricity at off peak hours then you would save as off peak is 7.363 cents and super off peak is only 4.218 cents. Funny that duke energy is allowed to control who and how many residences can have solar in nc thus denying the citizens a lower cost, more environmentally friendly energy source

Pretty sure the energy oligarchy is a failure that combines the absolute worst of government and the private sector

I'm trying to find the right duke energy plan for my family of six We have a bunch of electronic devices like tvs, laptops, a fridge, washer, dryer, and even an air fryer We use electricity for our ac, but we use gas for heating and hot water My wife works from home, and i go to the office

Currently, we have a fixed residential plan at 11.661 cents per kwh And we fluctuate between 400 in. Paid my duke bill today with no additional fee The first screen indicates there may be a fee, but once you click through, the fee is $0
