I have been curious about sonic game sales for a long time, so i browsed the web looking for sales numbers for a variety of games I feel like heroes mostly skirts by simply because shadow and 06 were so much worse. We don't have accurate ltd numbers for most sonic games, because sega usually doesn't share anything beyond the numbers for the first fiscal year

Sonic heroes was a good concept with generally good level design and presentation, marred by extremely poor padding and messy gameplay/technical issues
It was a game developed under pretty heavy crunch conditions by a team that were not experienced with multiplatform game development.
Sonic heroes was assumed to be the peak until sonic frontiers, and then colors sales continuing to sell after that game Shadow generations is still selling inline with usual sales of sonic major releases with discount sales in a similar time frame or longer and that looked like it was going to be the home run. Cd + heroes (can't imagine them doing metal sonic twice) adventure 1 06 and before i get jumped for that last one, they also introduced iblis (albeit in a comedic manner) in the knuckles show + it was on their shortlist of copyrighted stories they could adapt.actually now that i typed this up, we pretty much have another trilogy. Ah, ok so it was those two
I'm wondering if sonic 4 will be an adaptation of sonic cd or heroes I'm hoping the former but it'll most likely be the latter. Heroes has all the makings of a great sonic game, but unfortunately, it also has one major flaw holding it back.the controls. It's currently unclear which project it's tied to, but we'll likely find out soon. this, of course, immediately sparked speculation in. I liked sonic heroes when it first came out but unlike the adventure games i find it more difficult to go back to as i get older It definitely lost something that made those work while adding a giant list of bloated nonsense
