Both have google slide integration, but personally i think pear deck wins here It works great for this Pear deck was literally built as a google slide add on while nearpod added this recently

I found that some stuff doesnβt work great with nearpod
For example, adding a gif to a google slide and it doesnβt move in the nearpod lesson.
Tutors sharing tips, advice & experiences to help improve our lessons Pear deck was adopted by my district and the app is automatically added to all of our classes During those times i have a slide deck with pear deck running The kids join the pear deck presentation and then are required to reply/respond in pear deck or in the chat box on zoom.
Pear deck is like upgraded clickers They can answer multiple choice questions but also type, draw (have to pay), submit numbers for math problems, etc If can see individual students' answers and even reply back directly to them in real time to give corrections I used it a lot during the lockdown.
Pear deck was even more useful in person, because i could throw markers at the kids who were on instagram.
There is an extension called pear deck that students can use to log onto your slideshow and you control what slide they're on
