Gotta change it from level.sav, these character file only seems to have your uid .sav, as far as i've ever seen, are usually just renamed sram, so just copying the.srm to.sav would probably work. The in game name is in the level.sav reply reply kazuke_x •

I'm interested in doing some data mining and messing around with.sav files for games, but i'm not quite sure where to begin
I can convert the.sav binary file to hex, but i'm not quite sure how to go from there.
I'm trying to convert my game from.gba format to.sav, and vice versa, so that i could jump easily between emulation and native gameplay However i haven't found much success with the conversion tool you've made. Yes, by simply renaming the file extension and removing the e in save, so it's sav Sounds ridiculously straightforward, but it's that simple
I've done it with several emulators, and most of the time, it works. Run the conversion tool from requirement 4 to convert the.sav files to.json open the oldlevel.sav.json file created (it will probably be very large, but notepad++ worked for me) and search for the first 8 chars from step 5 if it doesn't find those characters, try again with an even older backup (if you don't have one, you're probably sol) In retroarch, save states are saved as.state
