It has proper gearing and geometry I'm happy with the ultra because i have a fat tire bike that inherently has more resistants and drag, therefore it needs the torque Bear in mind you would descent with the motor off (the easiest is not to pedal, or switch to off).

But more importantly larger electric motors are simply more efficient due to having thicker coils, larger core size etc.
So given the same controller, bafang ultra will be more efficient than a mainstream like bosch, brose etc
For the simple reason that it has a larger volume and contains more copper. Noise from the bosch is intentional since electric vehicles have to emit a noise to alert pedestrians just like all electric automobiles are legally obligated to do since 2019 Theeu, japan, australia, brazil, usa, switzerland, canada all require it. Have you ridden an ultra powered fat bike
Is comparing these two motors true apples to apples, just looking at numbers Or is there more to the picture that i am not seeing I need, however, to ask all participants of this thread to come back on topic. The difference between your bafang and a mid drive like bosch is that bafang ultra will climb the same hill much faster
Otherwise both will climb easily given a wide enough cassette For bafang it seems you may need a controller like ww's x1 to reach/exceed the efficiency and smoothness of mainstream mid drives Why do well known bicycle companies use mainstream mid drives
