While general motors used this front end sheet metal, and to a slightly lesser extent the cab, on all of its trucks except for the cab overs, there are three main sizes of this truck
Can anyone tell me the diffrence between a 3100/3800 1951 chevy truck
Shouldn't be any difference, but you can look up the parts in the parts book and make sure A forum community dedicated to 1955, 1956, and 1957 chevy owners and enthusiasts Come join the discussion about restoration, engine swaps, reviews, performance, modifications, classifieds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more! I'm not entirely sure on what the difference is between the 14/15 designation, although i know it has something to do with the bed style or length
I'm guessing that 14 is a short bed and the 15 is a long bed if my memory serves me correctly. Anything different with the 3800 that i should know about From what i have read in digging through the site, it looks like everything is about the same, other than the 1 ton drivetrain and loooooong bed Can the 3800 bed be cut down to a 3100 easily like the 3600?
It was wider, with more hip room, as well as longer and higher, for more head and leg room
Thicker dash and floor mats and better insulation than what was used on previous chevrolet trucks helped keep noise down, and there was room for tools under the seat. I am trying to get a feel for the size difference and havent really been around both at the same time, and very few in general.
