I've shot a few caribou in the middle of the afternoon as well but most are in the morning just after the bugs really get going. Although the nps is mandated to manage for unaltered populations of wildlife, they can take measures to reduce nuisance populations Is anybody hearing anything different?

Alright, here we go again
We begin the official thread for disseminating rumors, misinformation, opinions and wild speculation about the nelchina caribou herd and the upcoming hunt for it
I talked to becky at the glennallen field office last week According to her, the hunters last year. All stuff that i know in my head, but i spend way more time hunting caribou and sheep, so i haven't put that into practice much I like good coffee but i if could have only one for an extended period i choose tea
Plain old black/orange pekoe blend It's lightweight, simple to make (just boil water) and i like it well enough without sugar or milk unlike coffee. I'm looking for some ideas for a hunt in august 2012 I'll be taking my 13 year old son with me
Caribou seems to be the obvious answer but there aren't many caribou that are easy to reach
Kodiak deer might work, but the weather can be so gnarly down there Tony et al, the current ballot initiative, if passed, would not have prevented the wolf control recently done to save this peninsula caribou herd from extinction You bring up a good point about the government also We raised a baby calf one summer and was doin fine with it and then was talked into handing over to the moose federation and then we found out the calf was euthenized for research
Wont do that again either I f the situation arose with another calf i would raise it for a few months and the just send it out on its own The few people i trust. Hunted with john below and if you do see any caribou 25 other hunters see them as well
The one herd we saw had at least 10 trucks hunting them and they still crossed the road away from everybody!
