Still, it remains faster than creating a fully closed profile. I would like it better if there was a possibility to inverse the function of the pocket feature, i.e You want your sketches sketch003 and sketch004 to be on the top of the body so you can pocket down into it

The most straightforward way (but fraught with danger!) is to create them on the top face directly by selecting the face then create sketch in the part design workbench.

I was able to achieve this geometry using additional an additional pad on the existing cylinder pad, but my inital thought was to use a circle sketch and then do an inverse pocket if that makes sense. If i pad a sketch, it behaves exactly like i issued a pocket instead If i do a hole, it creates a padded version of the hole sticking out of the part. I want to finish this open pocket after roughing it with an adaptive toolpath and in order to properly ease in the tool for the contour finishing operation i added a leadinout dressup to a profile operation.
I'm trying to make a 10x10 pocket on the side of a cylinder I made a sketch on the plain with the cylinder centered in on it When i go to my pocket it goes towards the rear But i need the hole in the front (viewing direction) i don't want the hole to start in the center so i can just reverse it

That means you don't see a pocket because the command is moving toward empty space and not into your part geometry. Until now i have always done this by drawing a sufficiently large box around the drawing and then using the pocket feature
