Permission, you can manage both exchange 2013 and o365 from the exchange ecp portal but it's not the case with regular user.
We cannot connect to owa or ecp I checked iis and the default website and back end website for both owa and ecp are set to windows authentication and anonymous authentication are the only thing enabled under the authentication tab I have checked event logs and nothing shows up. Does ecp need to be enabled in emc or something The only thing are configuration tasks in owa like rules and so on which use ecp virtdir get same error. It turned out to be (2) for us we looked at the app pools in iis and ecp was mapped to v4.0 for ms.net We switch to 2.0 and iis restarted and it appears to be working now.
Yes, the virtual directory ecp have the correct url (in both, internal and external url)
I recreated again the virtual directory and it removed my external url but i specified it again.
