If you goto start=>control panel=>add/remove programs and check the updates box, you can uninstall sp2 from the client tools, and then it will let you reinstall it.
It is enabled with an option to add it in add or remove programs When i uninstall it from the control panel ( add or remove programs ) it gets uninstalled and again when i connect the device the device is detected under ports class in device manager in windows xp.but the same is not happening in windows 7. Important to note and i finally got aroudn to fixing this And it's really a doh!.
