As of right now, the endpoints of the pinterest v3 api are almost complete although there is no official documentation. The accepted answer will generate a button if you have another pinterest button (and the pinit.js script loaded) I added pinterest buttons on my website and pinning worked fine

It seems like a decent approach, at least until pinterest sees fit to add some better tools, such as an image whitelist option. I have installed the pinterest tag on my ecommerce site on the product detail page I need the pinterest tag to trigger the add to cart conversion event only when someone clicks on the add to cart.
