I analyzed all the motley fool premium recommendations since 2013 and benchmarked them against s&p500 returns While the motley fool's investment services themselves are great, one of the most frequent complaints on this sub is the fool's constant firehose of marketing emails to upsell you on more expensive services A subreddit for fans of the motley fool investing website

Motley fool told me lmnd was a top stock to buy back in early 2021… if that gives you a sense of how trustworthy they are. I tested the motley fool using a different number of their services, tracking them on a spreadsheet and it was positive In the end, their recommendations helped send the portfolio to $900,000 by 2021 I solely used motley fool services over this time
The services i subscribed to cost about $4k over the 5 year period. Since i am using the canadian version of motley fool’s premium subscription, i have only access to the us recommendations made from 2013 But, 8 years is a considerably long time to benchmark returns for the service The part of motley fool that people criticize most is their free services/marketing arm that spam inboxes with newsletters and conflicting articles every other day from different contributors.
