Thank you for your time 14 x 18 cross section We try for a 32 inch bale length. We almost never rake/bale high moisture hay so it’d seem there would only be very minimal dirt contamination
I can see how high moisture hay could have more dust and dirt to adhere to it Might plant a couple of fields that will be round baled These fields are on hills, are well drained and get a lot of sun Because of the terrain, the ground tends to be hot and dry out and timothy just won’t survive long, so i’m considering orchard grass

With lighter hay (including 2nd and on cuttings), we may have doubled or tripled the windows (taking 2 or 3 mower passes together) 😂 i’ve been reading through some of the threads on the site and i think this will be the place i’ll find answers to some of my questions It is the bane of my existence!! I was baling silage yesterday with my jd 854 baler and i could not make a round bale
All the bales were lumpy I had the density turned up as high as i could and it still wouldn't make a good bale
