Hi, i would like to know if working as a medical/physicians assistant in a doctors office can be used as usce You need to be ecfmg certified which means you pass usmle step 1, step 2 ck, and step 2 cs Or if it is worth anything at all

I investigated some residency program descriptions (especially, surgery) and saw that some programs don't require us clinical experience :sorry
Do these programs are not so competitive or what
Img discussions of united states clinical experience (usce), clinical rotations, clerkships, externships, observerships, electives, and internships. I am an old img who has been working for the last 8 years as an rn (mainly in the icu/ccu) here in the united states Would that count as usce or do i need to find an externship or observership as well? Usce after graduation, with liability insurance, but without ecfmg certification
Is it legally possible, if a preceptor accepts to take us in, in a clinic Would this be called an externship? Since i heared it i cant focus on my studies because of anxiety i keep spending my time google ing information 2nd are these paid agencies externship worth it ? In fact the main reason they put that requirement of one year usce is actually to filter out imgs
So ultimately it's not a super brilliant idea
I don't think that getting into prelim year is easier than getting into a good university categorical pgy1 spot. Lot's of programs would be happy with one month of usce By all means, one month of usce is certainly better than none but three months will get more programs willing to take you. Fellowships without residency information fellowship without residency (direct fellowship) yes
Imgs can go to fellowship directly There's no specific list of specialties that accept imgs directly because all of them can do that if they wish
