During these events, your nest thermostat will adjust your home’s temperature by up to 4 degrees f, helping you to use less energy on heating or cooling during that time If you start to feel uncomfortable, you can stop participating at any time by changing the temperature. Before the rush hour your energy company predicts a large rise in electricity or natural gas demand caused by a cold snap or heat wave To help relieve demand and prevent possible brownouts and blackouts, an energy rush hour is scheduled and sent to all nest thermostats in the rush hour rewards program.
