Norethindrone (progestin) hysterectomy options and alternativesanyone ever take this stuff?
I had a lap to remove endo in march, and began taking a daily dose of.35mg of this progestin
Says it should keep endo from growing back till i have surgery in the fall But considering i've felt pretty crappy for awhile now, it's hard to tell if it's the hormones, or just me I switched from norethindrone to prometrium and did very well I made the switch because prometrium is a bioidentical and was better for me
I take 100 mg at night before i go to bed It has helped some with the hot flashes and insomnia I just started on vivelle dot patches and will increase the dosage gradually. At that time he put me on norethindrone (which i understand is a progesterone) also mega iron, vit e, bp meds, and multi vits
All this to get me up to par for surgery
Is there anyone out there that is also on this norethindrone prior to surgery And if so whats the reasoning for this He claims this should slow the bleeding down until my surgery. Norethindrone is definitely better than provera but it still enhances the anxiety and depression of menopause
So i am definitely going for prometrium And with that they say its better on your body than provera since that is what all the bad side effects they say comes with a progestin is provera. Both meds say dizziness is a possible side effect, but the papers with the meds make it sound like it is effects that will happen early and then go away. My doctor says i should be able to resume lifting and intercourse after 6 weeks I was wondering in your experience is 6 weeks long enough Are my chances of tearing it after 6 weeks high I am a toddler teacher and lift some pretty heavy kids several.
